Ryan Airplane Company

Ryan Airplane Company was founded by Ryan Montague in 2002.  Ryan has had a deep passion for aviation since he was a child.  Ryan has been going to air shows, fly-in's and being around aircraft from an early age.  Ryan apprenticed for Eagle Wings Aviation (working on general aviation aircraft) then finished his Airframe and Power plant ratings at North American Institute of Aviation in 2001.  While going to school he worked in for Flight International (working in the sheet metal department on Jet Streams, Fairchild Metro's, Learjets and DeHavland Dash 8's) After graduating from North American Institute of Aviation he was hired as an aircraft mechanic instructor for the school.  He taught painting and finishing, aircraft covering, wood structures, radial engines, markings and registration as well as being a shop supervisor.  Ryan went to St. Augustine, Florida as the director of maintenance for a WW2 air combat school (maintaining five SNJ/T-6's) as well as two other SNJ/T6's for individuals.  While in Florida Ryan was able to complete the requirements for his Inspection Authorization (IA).   When an opening was presented to work for the famous air show pilot Dale Snodgrass, Ryan became part of the Dale Snodgrass Airshows as a mechanic on the F-86 that has been seen through out the country.  Ryan completed a 56 hour course on the Pratt & Whittney  PT-6A series engines for heavy maintenance.  Ryan attends yearly eight hour Inspection Authorization (IA) renewal seminars.  These provide a better relationship with the FAA and also have valuable material given out during them that is important for keeping your plane in the best condition.  The goal of the recurrent training is to provide the best service and most knowledgeable person to work on your aircraft.  Most reciently he was appointed as a FAA Safety Team Representative; where he does presentations on a variety of topics from maintaining and inspecting aging aircraft to installing Angle Of Attack indicators and 406 ELT installations.
